About The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, which is made annually, recognises and rewards excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups in the community.The Queen announced the Award in 2002 to mark the occasion of her Golden Jubilee. The Award is given every year in recognition of outstanding achievement by groups of two or more people in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Isle of Man who volunteer their own time to enhance and improve the quality of life and opportunity for individuals or other groups in the community.
Ashley and Loggerheads Commumity First Responders have become one of 130 winners of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. The MBE for groups of volunteers who work in their local community for the benefit of others.
The prestigious UK National Honour recognises outstanding voluntary contributions and sets the national benchmark for excellence in volunteering, with the work of those awarded being judged to be of the highest standard.
Pictured righ are some of our Responders, past and present, having been presented the Queen's award for Voluntary Service by the Lord Lieutenant on the 12th of August.
