Ashley and Loggerheads
Community First Responders (671)
We are volunteers from within the Ashley and Loggerheads community, trained by the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Community First Responders (CFRs) are notified of medical emergencies in their area and respond to provide emergency medical care until the arrival of the ambulance service.
In a medical emergency sometimes every minute counts. For example, if you have a heart attack and receive treatment in the first six minutes, you are 80% more likely to survive. However it can take up to 25 minutes for an ambulance to arrive in a rural area. CFRs are there to provide a quicker response and to maximise patients' chance of survival and recovery.
Like all CFR schemes, we are dependent on donations from the public.
